Landscape and environment inspire my work. Colour, structure and balance, together with texture and expressive line quality, are my main motivations for experimentation. In my work I portray my emotional responses to both abstraction and figurative outcomes.  This last year I have been hugely inspired by the beauty of Autumn, my favourite season.

When painting, my main passion is for paint itself. The use of colour, structure, movement, balance and expressive marks are crucial to me in order to reach an emotional satisfaction with the whole. Lately I have enjoyed using many marks made with devices other than just the paint brush. To me, the work is complete when all the desired elements are fulfilled and a balance is achieved.
